Food For Life Served Here Award Standards!
Food For Life Served Here
The Food For Life Served Here Award provides excellent guidelines on food standards, which is why we base our menus on its principles. It provides an independent endorsement that food providers are taking steps to improve the food they serve, using fresh ingredients which are free from trans fats, harmful additives and GM, and better for animal welfare. The Soil Association, who run the scheme, regularly audit our accredited menus to ensure that they meet high standards of provenance and traceability, are freshly prepared using environmentally-sustainable and seasonal ingredients.
Food For Life
The Food For Life programme helps make good food the easy choice for everyone – making healthy, tasty, sustainable meals the norm for all to enjoy, connecting people with where their food comes from, teaching them how it’s grown and cooked, and championing well-sourced ingredients. They work with thousands of schools, helping build knowledge and skills through a whole school approach, involving pupils, teachers, caterers, parents and the community to create a voice for long-term change. Is your school already involved in the programme? Find out here!
